Azra Hassanali a Speech and Language Therapist for CNWL at Ealing Community Partners will be travelling to Damascus on 14 November with a small group of volunteers – Lady Zaynab Helping Hands.

Azra said:

“I have been asked to help train staff at a school outside the city, who have identified 50 children as having Special Educational Needs. I hope to take toys and equipment for the children and train staff and caregivers on how best to use them, as well as the interaction strategies they can use to support the students.”

It will also be a fact-finding trip to assess their needs and help them formulate a training plan and put them in touch with any other professionals.”

Lady Zaynab Helping Hands is not attached to any particular mosque but we do all know each other through our mosque community. It is self-funded established group of volunteers who have travelled there many times before, they have contacts to ensure that we are well looked after.

I would be so grateful for your support through donations by Wednesday 9 November (delivered to Watford or Greenford Green Clinic):

  1. Educational sensory toys for Special needs children
  2. Puzzles for children
  3. Arts and craft
  4. Playdoh

Or donate at: https://www.paypal.com/pools/c/8OhzCrkQVI

All donations will go entirely towards buying supplies and I will report on the trip afterwards.

Many thanks for your support – it is so much appreciated and will go a long way to making the children’s quality of life better.
